Penny's travels
After leaving Byron Bay we headed up the coast to Austrailia Zoo where we decided to camp in a forest next to the Zoo so we could be there when it opened ,this seemed like a good idea at the time but as the night wore on and the forest noises became closer we began to wonder if finding a campsite may have been the better option!!But we survived the night and realised in the morning that there really was notso much to be scared of we were just being a bit jumpy as all the sounds seemed very close and unfamilia. In the morning we drove to the Zoo where the others went in while i stayed in the campervan as i'd already been and yet again Steve was not there. We then left the Zoo and made our way to Hervey Bay so we could do a trip to Frazer Island, this we did in a 4w drive bus which threw you around everywhere but was great fun and the island was gorgeous with vast sandy beaches and large rainforests which were the home for many many spiders. We stayed a couple of days in Hervey bay and then moved on heading towards Airlie beach another of my favourate places as you've prob guessed but is was a long drive getting there and sitting in the back of a camper van is not the most comfortable way to travel !In Airlie Sadie,Steve and Kyle went on a sailing trip and i stayed in the camper and caught up with a couple of people that were still left in Airlie, after a couple of days relaxing it was time to move on yet again and we decided to head sraight for Cairnes so we could arrange suits for the wedding ect.It was then time to leave the camper and go to Palm Cove where the wedding was to be held, the first night i stayed in the hotel on the sofa and the next day Yinka was due to arrive so i met up with him and convinced him to try camping for a couple of days as the hotels were really expensive,as always i was fine but Yinka was not to convinced! We had a small hen/stag night which invoved too much drink and then an early morning to prepare for the wedding. The day was gorgeous everyone looked lovely as you will see in the pics and we had a fantastic meal complements of Sadie's parents. We then spent the evening relaxing before heading back to the tent. The next day it was time to move back to Cairnes and leave the honeymoon couple to relax. After a week in Palm Cove they decided to extend their holiday for another week and move to Cairnes to be more central where we all met up and went out for a few nights (i fogot to mention that we also went on a dive trip a couple of days after the wedding ,which was great ,we got to see lots of turtles and many many different fish). It is now time for me to move on to New Zealand and try to pick up some work as the job i was going to do has not worked out,so fingers crossed for NZ,if not i will be back a couple of months earlier than planned but i guess we all have to work sometime! So goodbye for now and i'll catch up with you all in when i get to NZ Penny xx
