Where do I even begin? Words cannot describe how totally amazing today was. I want to engrain every detail and remember it all! This is a slight challenge when my memory is that of a goldfish...
We headed off in some dune buggys driving around, revving them like crazy! On the wrong side of the road and with the lunatic drivers. The buggy´s were $45 for 3 hours between 2 of us, Sherri and I went together and we could not stop laughing! We were all pulled over by the police to check we were 18+, no need for a drivers licence! We hooned around some waterfalls and watched people do the the swing jump off the bridge. The que was pretty long so we thought we would do the other one later. Enroute back to the buggy shop we were behind a truck who got a flat tyre so we had to squeeze up the wall and around him! The traffic was manic behind him. We also ended up going the wrong way up one way streets and forgetting to stop at intersections!
Now it was time to head to the bigger swing bridge to jump. If you are going to do it you might as well do it properly! So we arrived at the bridge and there was noone there? So we dove back accross it and saw a guy with a bunch of ropes looking hopeful that we would jump! We were thinking... Riiiight - this looks totally legit and safe.... Let´s do it! It was incredible. Words cannot describe the feeling of knowingly throwing yourself off a perfectly safe bridge and free falling 45m! We stood on a very small platform and just went! 9 of the group did it and we all got dvd´s of it and photos. The view at the bottom was so worth the 20 bucks!
We then see some cool guys with a colourful van and some rafts attatched to the roof ready to take us rafting! Kenneth, Sherri, Brit, Matt, Aimie, Russell and Josh all did it. We were all a little under-excited initially... but my goodness were we stoked we did it by the end! The rapids were level 3-4 and we had 6 people to a boat. Brit and I were captains of our boat! I have not laughed so hard in all my days. We both fell out and Kenneth fell out 3 times in the other boat! Then we were provided with a yummy hot choc and toasted sandwich which hit the spot... All of this for a mere $30... It was amazing how cheap everything was! We couldn´t have probably done one of those activities for the total price we each paid that day.
Our hotel has hammocks so you can imagine how we spent the evening...
