Hi all,

We left Brisbane yesterday [1/1/2015] with the flight taking off at 2:00 pm and landing just over 9 hours later in Bangkok.

I got selected for an explosives check in Brisbane, just as I did in Sydney the other week. At least this time I didn't set off a (false) alarm as happened in Sydney - noice!!

At the Airport in Bangkok Desley and I went through separate Customs lines - I had my photo taken by the authorities but she did not. I am starting to think my beard makes me look suspicious.

We are in the quite nice Grand Pinnacle Hotel at present but will set off in an hour to the Airport for the next flight to Luang Prabang in Laos. It's only a 90 minute trip so should be kicking back by the Mekong River with a Beerlao this arvo.

Sabaidi (pronounced "sar-bar-dee" - meaning both goodbye and hello in Lao).
