South America
On my way up to the Paso de Jama, I drove for hours thru this uninhabited high plain. Sometimes a couple of vicuñas showed up where water was gathering. - Here and there I stopped for short hikes to a points of interest. But I had read that the Chilean army had mined the territory to the nearby Bolivian border, so this knowledge hampered my explorer curiosity. However slim the chances of hitting a landmine might have been, loosing a leg wasn't worth it. Let alone that driving a stick isn't an option one-legged.
