Well lots has happened since my last update!.
Went into Bariloche which was on the Argentina border. Nothing really much to do there but was good for walks and sightseeing.
Not too good on the weather front. It made up part of Argentinas lake district which it only rains 200 days of the year!! - So a nice hot sunny day can be spoiled by a half hours downpour, but we say snow and lots of it!.
I Spent 4 days In Bariloche before moving over into Chile.
The first night was here was an experiance. We arrived at about 11:30 at night (puerto Montt) and a little old lady approached us in the bus terminal regarding a hostel she "worked for"...any way after we agreed on a price (that was cheap) we followed her to this "hostel".
Never been so scared, it was like Beruit. Found our selves which can only be described as a shanty town. It was her own house and it was disgusting!, we could have left at that point but it would have been too dangerous for us so we decided to plant all our money around in different loactions, ie socks , pants, bags, camera cases and brave a night.
I slept in my clothes onto of the bed as the sheets looked like they haden´t been changed for months! the pub across the road didn´t stop blearing music out until about 5am and the dogs outside didn´t stop fighting until about 6am..so i got about 15 minutes kip and decided to get up.
We skipped "breakfast" if that´s what it actually was and decided to move onto a differnt town called Puerto Varas.
Puerto Varas was about 1 hours bus away, What a difference!! this place had it all. 3 Volcano´s, Lakes, Mountain springs, Sea food and the biggest casino in Chile!!.
The first day here it was pretty cold (chilly) so we decided to get some mince, tomatos and chilli and have chilli con carne in Chile on a chilly day.....Nvq lvl 2 came into play.
Second day at Varas we went White water rafting!, well good fun...didn´t stop smiling all the way through, nearly ended up overboard but that adds to the excitment.
Natural Volcanic mountain spring water all round. Crystal clear water, so if you ever fancied a drink you could simply cup your hand and taste the pure ice cold water.
We then decided to move upto where im writing this from... a place called Pucon also in the Chilian lake district.
Went Horsetrekking up the Volcano here. I hated horses before i got on one and i still hate them now.
i´m nusring a bad back from when the horse decided to "canter" or what ever it was flaming doing....i was bricking it...then a dog came up and bit my horses back leg which made it do that two front legs in the air thing follwed by a load noise which leads to a bolt.
i felt like a flaming jokey holding on for my life. we paid 15 pound for the 2.5 hour trip...no helmets included, rope for reins, and a foam pad as a saddle..it was very very funny however i´m sure i laughed at the face of death at least 3 times.
I went fishing after that....still got the fillets in the freezer of the HUGE salmon i caught. So that was yesterdays dinner tea, todays breakfast dinner and tea all sorted.
I´m donating the rest (theres loads) of it to fellow backpackers.
So now were waiting for an overnight bus (i upgraded to first class) to Santiago then transfer to Mendoza.
Mendoza is just Full of vineyards! so is going to be lots of fun + SUN SUN SUN!!!
2 weeks 1 day left :-( then back to work :-)
