Ok, last update before I begin the long trek home. After subwaying it into town again we first went to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The building itself is incredible but the bronze monument of a soldier on a horse above the tomb is phenomenal in its size. The detailing in the statues along the walls and around the outside of the monument is just stunning. Okay so here I am in Rome! Have been having a lovely time with Serena and her folks...absolutely loving the Italian food and hospitality. Ok...in Athens at the moment and it's absolutely pouring. Caught a train from the airport and then had to walk through the wet to my hotel. It's all good though, I have a lovely view of the Acropolis from my room which is very cool. Ok I believe I was up to last Sunday in updating. We left pretty early in the morning to head first to Jerash (Roman ruins) and then into Syria. It took less than 2hours to arrive at Jerash where we had a tour around the city ruins....
