Well we decided to leave Jeaneete and Ades and pop off down to Devon. We had the wettest day on record for June here yesterday but we still managed to dodge those pesky raindrops and have a laugh. We followed he M4 and then the M5 motorways and passed some beautiful countryside and churches, along with old farmhouses, sheeep and lots of lovely Clotted cream producing cows- all you Americans this is cream thats so thick it sticks to your arteries whilst in the pot!! BUT IT GOES DOWN VERY WELL ON A SCONE LOADED WITH JAM AND A NICE CUPPA TEA AS THEY ALL SAY OVER HERE. sorry caps lock on there I am not used to typing this early. Well to carry on with the story we arrived to dartmouth, a beautiful little village with a steam railway and a ferry over the river to Kingsbridge, all looking like it should be in an adventure book . the weather was COLD, but we were ok. The boys decided to go off and buy some lunch, they never stop eating! We ate lunch by the bandstand in the Royal Gardens and then we were joined by some feathered friends. Two huge seagulls-rats of the sea, came a stood by the boys squaking for food, so we ignored the posted ' do not fed the gulls' signs and fed them. They were most grateful. After this we went to the Quay and purchased crab line, bait-which was smelly squid, and went to find a good crab spot. Well we were pretty patient and I pulled up the line- yes there was one on the bait, but no, hes a devon , no Dartmouth crab, hes smart he let go as he surfaced, plop, to the bottom again, sorry boys but I dont think iscovery Channel will want that footage for 'Deadliest Catch'!! After Darmouth, we drove to Bath a cute old Roman town 2 hours drive from Devon, in the county of Somerset. Well arriving in Bath we went ot a Hotel and it was full, went to another Full, this went on for 7 hotels!! Mary and joseph had nothing on the Winters!! Well we decided to go back after going round Bath by car three times , to the M5 to the services, guess what Full!! So intrepid travellers that we are we set off for Nan and Bills in Hampshire, 479 miles later we have completed the journey. Tired but havibng had a good day we went to bed!
