Hola from Flores, Guatemala! We left Belize on Tuesday and took a bus journey five-ish hours to Flores, Guatemala. Flores is a tiny islad in the middle of Lake Peten. It is a beautiful location but very quiet. Yesterday we rose at 4.30 AM and took a 5am bus to the ruins at Tikal. The ruins were amazing and covered a huge area of land. The ruins are in lush jungle surroundings and we saw all kinds of wildlife. According to Tom Tikal was the location of the rebel base in Star Wars. Great.

On Tuesday evening whilst enjoying a beer and the view over the lake Tom had to chase out the biggest, fattest and hairiest tarantula I have ever seen out of our room. Gross.

We have had a lovely btu very quiet tme in Flores and tonight we are getting a night bus to Antigua, the last stop of our Central American journey. I think we´ll be sad to leave Central America. There´s so much to come back and see. Another trip has already been planned!
