As we stated in the first blog entry we made, we love to plan things. Or maybe it's just me… Anyway, planning things includes making lists. Very long and comprehensive lists… Like this one here!
Truthfully speaking this list is just ridiculously long, but a lot of it is because I've listed all the things like toothpaste and the different medicines (of which there are a lot) as separate items instead of combining them under "oral hygiene" or "meds". That being said, the truth is that I'm just going to take a hell of a lot of stuff with me. Our trips to Spain have taught us the importance of a food kit (described later), my tendency to hedonism is the reason I am willing to carry around a 0,750kg hammock. My bag, my choices, my poor shoulders. Also, I need to state that although this amount of stuff ends up weighing about 18kg, it is still only about 20% of my body mass (I'm a very large guy…).
Also our trip is going to take us through for example Nepal in January and Peru in June. The temperatures there are somewhat lower than in Indonesia. We need the cold weather gear at least in the beginning, after which we can get rid of some of it. Our thicker jackets are something that we'll ditch in one way or the other as soon as we leave Nepal.
That's probably way too much explaining already. So here's the list:

That should be it, and all of it! At least I sincerely hope so… The pictures in the "Before the trip"-album don't show absolutely everything laid out, but they give the rough idea of what I'm bringing and how they are arranged. I just had to post this because for the last year one of my favorite pastimes has been reading what other people take on their trips. I don't know if anyone will find this helpful or interesting (or even stumble upon it?) but at least I'm trying to give something back. I might later on make a new entry about the things I've ditched, replaced or acquired.
