Hello everyone from Stockholm Sweeden.
Its been a long day for me. I am back on the road again on my final tour before during this study abroad. I am hitting Sweeden, Norway, Austria, and germany again.
this trip began last night at 6pm when i hoped a night train to stockholm. after 12 hours, 3 changes of trains, and some wondering around, i am here in Sweeden. Its alot different traveling alone. It makes everything more difficiult in my opinion. Ill give you an example: i must grab all my stuff just to go get a snack somewhere or go to the restroom
Today was definately a full day. I arrived here at 6 and after checking in I realized that I wont be able to catch my flight on Saturday if I stay here an extra night. Agter some assitance I was able to find where the airports are and the buses to take me to my destination. DO NOT TAKE TAXIS IN NORWAY OR SWEEDEN. It will cost you 1000 kr just to travel a short distance. not even the locals use the taxis.
Lets see, what did i see today. I visited the oldest preserved ship in the world called the swedish Wasa. A ship built in 1639 with an astonishing 60+ cannons. On her maiden voyage, she caught a bad gust of wind and with poor balast weighing, she sank in the harbor. The Wasa never made it to the open ocean.
As small of this world is, I was walking out of the museum and i ran into fellow Jenna and Sarah. Fellow International students and I had no idea that they would be in Stockholm too. So we met up and visited the open air museaum of how life was back in the medival age. There was also a zoo with some scandinavian animals. I ended my hitory tour at the anticent history museum. pretty cool until the fire alarm sounded off and i was shuffled outside. Very wierd.
Now im back at my awsome hostel with my feet killing me. Tomorrow is some more stockholm with oldtown in mind then off to Oslo.
Goodbye for now.
