So, where was I last time? Oh yes, I was in Queenstown in New Zealand. Well, I am now in Queensland in Australia! Noosa to be precise. Enjoying all the lovely sunshine!
Well, I moved on from Queenstown the day after I wrote the blog, and went to Christchurch. It was lovely weather there, and the last stop for all of us in New Zealand, so we spent the days just relaxing in the park and having picnics and playing frisbee. Was nice to spend time with everyone before we all flew to different parts of the globe on the same day!
After that, I flew to Cairns to begin my descent of the East Coast of Oz. Cairns was a nice place, but personally a little dull. Not a lot to do actually in Cairns, so really you need a car to visit places just outside. Which I didn't have! Although I did go on a day trip to Cape Tribulation which was lovely. I was also meant to do a scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, but due to the windy weather the boat that I was booked on didn't go out, so sadly that didn't happen.
I then moved on down to Airlie Beach, ready to hop on a boat for a couple of nights and become a sailor. That was really good fun, although with the cyclone coming the water was a bit choppy! Luckily though, there was no seasickness for me. Sadly, I can't say the same about a few people that were on the boat! We got a mixture of rain, sun and wind, but all in all I'd say that made it a more interesting experience! Once I was off the boat, I didn't have a hostel to go to as I was getting the overnight bus to Rainbow Beach that night. Luckily, a couple of girls from the boat did have a hostel, and so they let me use their bathroom to shower. Also, luckily, it was a very nice hostel and they actually had a bath, so I got a bubble bath. Result!
So then it was time for Rainbow Beach, ready to drive a Four Wheel Drive along Fraser Island with a group of people I'd never met before. That was really good fun, really enjoyed it. We had limited food, rain in the dark camp, lots of Dingoes wanting to eat our food, but it was really really good fun. Had a great time meeting new people and camping was fun, if a little uncomfortable with all the sand we accquired!
After Fraser it was time to move on to Noosa, which is where I am now. Yesterday was my birthday, and so I spent the day at Australia Zoo with some guys I had met on my trip to Fraser Island. I got to feed an elephant, feed the Kangaroos, hold a Koala and see a Crocodile show. All in all not a bad birthday! Then the four of us went out in the evening for a few drinks which was good.
That brings me to today, which I am just spending relaxing, catching up on business and hopefully moving on to the beach after this! The weather is absolutely beautiful here, and so I want to make the most of it!
Once again, I hope all is good back in the UK, I know you're all missing me terribly, but life goes on!
