Jakarta!!

We arrived at Jakarta airport after a 2 hour flight from Singapore to be met with stares again! It took us over an hour to get through immigration an some poor woman had to sit with our bags an wait for us because the carousel had even stopped!! Taxi to the hotel took round 30min. The traffic was horrific, it was like being back in Hanoi all over again.

Hotel was lovely! The food and beer in jakarta is also pretty cheap, we managed to get 2 big bottles of bintang for less than £3. We're like local celebrities here, people constantly waving at us shouting "hi mister". This staring gets a bit annoying but hey!

Over the next few days we managed to go through quiet a few beers as there really isn't much to do in the city even though it's Indonesia's capital! One day we went out to see the national monument which would have been lovely if there wasn't a protest going on! Police everywhere, barbed wire round one building, so random!

We ended up booking a flight to Bali early an not going to yogyakarta it was far to expensive! I'll up date again when we are leaving Bali!
