Arrived in Krabi after a 2hr bus ride and got a long tail boat over to Hat Rai Leh West. We booked into the railay bay resort and Spa for 6 nights. It's absolute paradise here. We have got a little bungalow and its gorgeous. The beach is surrounded at both ends by Limestone cliffs which are infamous for rock climbing. Here we took a day trip on a speed boat to 5 islands which included the famous beach used for the movie 'The Beach' We could not get over how crowded it was. There were at least 30 other speed boats there and it really ruined the Maya beach experince. The rest was stunning though with Chicken island, bamboo island, phi phi don and lei. We also snorkelled here and played avoid the jellyfish! We spent most days chilling by the pool and on the beach and exploring the island. On the 3rd day we were watching the sunset (which was the best we've seen yet. Nikki you would have loved it as Hed Kandi music was also playing in the background!), and Claire and Gary walked past who we met on the bus ride down to Koh Tao from Bangkok. They joined us for dinner and a few buckets. We then met Katie and Tony who met Claire and Gary on the boat over from Krabi. They were a great couple and the 6 of us had a great 4 nights on the beach, in the restaurants and in the bars! We ventured onto the east side for the last 2 nights for dinner where we discovered a great night life with cocktails at the most attractive price ever! Here the girls and i had a few too many at the last bar at the end of the strip. Ben and Tony had a few too many buckets this night and decided to reinact the thai boxing on the beach on the way home, and ben ended up being chased by Tony with a 'large leaf' which was actually a massive palm tree branch/leaf - hillarious! We are now heading down to Malaysia to the Cameron Highlands for a cup of Tea! Love you all lots. Miss you Zella and Ben x x x
