Ben & Zella's travels
Got a mini bus with a 6'5 transvestite canadian and a couple of english girls on their travel and headed off on our overnight adventure.
Started off at a memorial cemetary for the pow's who built the death railway. Next it was on to the pow museum which is next to the bridge over the river kwai. This told us about the history of the bridge and the amazing undergoing of building the bridge. We then walked over the bridge which had amazing views down the river.
After was a trip on the death railway on a train with olde worlde suspension and carridges. A person walked up and down selling yummy looking pancakes and donuts! This is where we spotted the temple for women to escape men on top of a big hill! We also met James Bond (A Brit who is also starting at PWC later on this year) We also got talking to a brother and sister duo from NZ Ella and Robbie who were also doing the stopover.
Once at our destination we headed off to have lunch on the river. Probably some of the best views you could enjoy whilst having lunch!
After lunch we hit the tiger temple where we cuddled up to some rather large p**** cats! We had to sign a disclaimer re loss of limbe beforehand which was disconcerting! However it was amazing to cuddle such a big cat.
Then off to dinner where we jumped off a bridge and floated down the river breast stroke stylee (all of this after we sampled local fried frogs-how ironic)
We atayed overnight in the most amazing accommodation which was our tour guide Sams home. A mini hotel on the River Kwai. The 4 of us stayed up late playing cards, swining on hammocks and chatting. We're going to go and stay with them in NZ as they are really great people.
We woke in the morning to go and ride a big elephant through the jungle for an hour. We both got to sit behind its ears which was amazing and then feed it bananas.
It was then time to float down the river on a delicate looking bamboo raft and then get on the mini bus back to Bangkok for the overnight 13hr bus and boat ride to Ko Tao.
