On Friday the 7th, we left Kurrimine beach and went to the Josephine falls, especially for young and wanna-be-young people a very cool place, since you could actually use the waterfall as a waterslide. We obviously did that and took some fun videos there. In the afternoon we went to the Boulders, another beautiful place which was much alike the Verzasca valley in Switzerland. We climbed on trees there and did a short hike. In the late afternoon we drove to Port Douglas and had a good, relaxing time at the beach (reading books and stuff).
On Saturday we went to a local zoo which brought the Australian animal world very close to us. We could stroke kangaroos and hold a Koala. I totally loved the Kangaroos and their soft fur (they're actually called Wallabies, jftr). The other positive thing about the zoo was, that it had free wifi and electricity. Consequently we returned to that blessed place to do some skype calls there in the afternoon, after having gone to Mossman Gorge, a small creek, meandering through the World Heritage Jungle. We did a hike there too and totally bashed the indicated hiking time :)
In the evening we drove to Cape Tribulation, the only place in the world (a local told us, so no guarantee) where two world heritages meet. The Daintree National forest and the Great Barrier Reef. We got to know a group of young people at the beach, all being a little bit high except for us. But still they were nice (they offered us meet) and their campfire was pretty awesome. The entire ambiance was breathtaking, the beautiful starry sky and the waves, just everything was amazing.
On Sunday we got up quite early and enjoyed another beautiful so-called day-hike to the top of Mount Sorrow through the jungle. (Indicated time 6-7 h, hiking time 3h -> gosh we're good). In the afternoon we did our laundry (yes, we do have some hygiene) and drove to the tablelands to eat some burgers in a McDonalds.
