Found somewhere to stay at 5am this morning, very tired so slept for a few hours. Had a short walk around the city but too hot so got a rickshaw to Ullah beach,not the nicest beach as it turned out. The usual piles of rubbish everywhere even outside the small houses that line the beach, we just don't get it. Gokarna is a typical Indian town, it's not fancy in any way but the people are friendly and food and hotel were unbelievably cheap. We got the 7am bus to Kumta which then went up to Jog Falls. The Falls themselves were pretty impressive although not as much as the pictures the locals have of them before the dam was built upstream. Unfortunately the area around Jog Falls was depressingly bad, we had hoped to stay there and have a relaxed day but the places to stay...

So lovely to wake up here,the rain last night has clered the sky and it's a beautiful hot day. The rickshaw driver turned up early so no need to worry. The train to Margao was late so we didn't have to wait long for our connecting train to Hospet.Great views from the train long drops from the railway into valleys and waterfalls, managed to sleep a bit to so felt fine when we got to Hospet.
