blog entry 5.2.2010

Now this is a first , writing a blog on a laptop midway between Thailand and Malaysia, and looking down over some stunning coastline. Probably Phi islands but im not too sure; either way it looked amazing as we took off on the little twin prob Firefly flight. At last I feel free again, and although I have absolutely no idea where I am going to sleep tonight, I am not too concerned apart from matters of cost.

Im not too sure what the folks around me think of my choice of music on the headphones either.. hopefully its not too loud outside .. as Nirvana and Kings of Leon blast way.. and not before time either ! Thai music is a grueling experience.. the traditional stuff ( as asian music goes ) is actually not too bad., but they have a habbit , almost obsession of playing Thai pop music in every bus, train shop and store you go into. Now I am a music lover but i really struggle with the repetitios nature of Thai pop. Its slow, monotonous and just playing boring.

The stewardess on this flight is apparently Malay, and has the look of an Indian princess.. she is very demure and beautiful. She speaks excellent English and has just brought my first taste of Malay food and drink.. each a big bonus from the 'spicy' Thai food I have become accustomed to.

Overall, I feel very chilled at this moment and looking forward to a few days away from the mayhem that is Patong. I do not know when I will return, but Im sure I will, in the not too distant future. Apart from my ladyfriend, I have met many people there who make the place begin to feel like home, although finances are getting to be a real problem and I realy must try to get a job soon.

While I am in Malaysia, I would like to take a trip over to Indonesia, maybe even to Bali. There are also a group of islands off the coast of Malaysia, which are renouned for having great surfing waves, and although I am not a surfer dude.. (born and raised in Birmingham., it wasnt likely was it ?)

Anyway im going to enjoy the flight, or at least watching the aircrew..update this later..
