Today was another big driving day. We stopped in a town called Heidelberg. Bec told us about the student biscuits. We found a small shop that sold them so I bought a couple of twin packets. Heidelberg is also known for selling gummy bears, especially beer flavored gummy bears. There was a shop that just sold gummy bears so I bought some packets of those too. Paul, Chip, Ross and Rach waited at a pub while the rest of us girls had a quick look around the shops. We only had an hour stop here so I picked up some biscuits and gummy bears, then headed back to the pub. On our way to the stein shop we drove past the Lorelei Rock. At the stein shop we were briefly shown how steins are made. The steins were so expensive!!! I really liked the stein that had a piece of the Berlin Wall on top, but it was around the €150 mark so really couldn't justify it. I bought Paul the contiki stein and that alone was €85, but that will be his present since we've been together four years the day we arrive home. I bought myself a cheaper stein as a souvineer. It's one of the traditional beer steins from the beer garden that I visited while in Munich. In the beer garden they now use the glass steins that were shown in the photos I took. However; the locals still have their own traditional steins that are kept under lock and key in the beer garden. Each person has their own key that they can use to access their own personal stein, when they visit the beer garden. When you need a refill you leave the lid up. That way the waitress knows that you need another beer. We had dinner at a restaurant a couple of doors down. I was given a vegetarian lasagne. It wasn't very nice so I ordered some fries at the pub underneath our hotel later on. Paul and I had our own hotel room tonight. The hotel was in the middle of nowhere so we had a pretty quiet night. Tomorrow we head off to Amsterdam. Not many nights of the tour left now.

Mum Gosh you sure will be counting down the days now until the end of your tour. I guess it will be a funny feeling when the tour does come to an end but it is good for all of us at home as we can't wait to see you both again real soon. I made yummy fettuccine chicken for the first time the other night and I am sure you would both love it too....usually I would have picked up the phone and had you over for tea and made it again for both of you to try, never mind it will be top of my list after the roast chicken I have promised you when you get home, love and lotsa hugs xx
