Caroline and JJ's Euro Adventure
Yesterday we took the bus to Venice and got on a water taxi down the Grand Canal to the Rialto bridge. It was very busy and hot but the shops sold lovely Marano glass and souveniers. Then we took the taxi to St Marco Square and had a big ice cream! We had fruit boxes and pizza for lunch, and a weird green, hard pistaschio cake.
We found a restuarant for dinner that did main meals for 8 euros and so we ate there. We sat down at 6.30, Jas had pesto and pine nut pasta and I had tomato kngnocchi (it wasn.t the real stuff), 2 mins later the food was ready, it had clearly just been left in a pot and served straight away. By 6.40 we d finished the meal, 6.43 the bill arrived.
Memo: Do not eat food from non Italians in Italy.
Jas bought a wine stopper with a glass gondala on top of it and I bought a blue glass cat with an orange goldfish in its belly!
We then came back to the hotel, used the internet, and by 11 were hungry again, so we ate a main meal at the hostel as well, which was really nice.
We re on our way to the train station to catch the train to Florence xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
