Well, it's been a crazy day or so! I decided to go all in at Skydive Chicago and do the $125 all you can jump, couldn't resist. Made 9 jumps there yesterday, can't beat that price! Planes were good, people were cool, plenty of friends were made in the air and on the ground. I also got to check out team Mandarin (4-way VRW) as they were training all day, looked pretty damn good! This place is like a resort and the title picture is one I took around sunset at their swimming pond.
Also posted some pictures from Buffalove, my trip towards Chicago, Skydive Chicago, and my trip to my current location, Sioux Falls, SD. AKA nowhere. This place is miles of farmland, end of story! The drive wasn't bad overall, but man, the midwest is non-stop CORN. It's so flat out here it's almost unreal! I cut through Wisconsin and it felt pretty much like I was in the middle of the wilderness just driving through, but once you hit Minnesota it's wind farms and corn. I was very impressed however with the amount of wind farms out here, very cool to look at. One area in particular seemed to go on forever, that was near Dexter, Minnesota I didn't check it out on Google Earth, but if it's an updated aerial it would be HUGE!
Rolling down 90 to nowheres-ville all there was to do was look at corn, wind farms, and get murdered by bugs. I pulled over for gas and found a huge bug that may have actually been a reptile lodged in my headlight. No joke, my windshield is toast. But I made it to a dropzone called Skydive Adventures just outside of Sioux Falls. Really small DZ, they have 1 or 2 Cessna's and there were about 6 people even here. I had contacted one of them and he was really cool, besides him, there was one other guy actually even jumping... I asked about Manifest and they handed me a clipboard, told me to write my name on the paper and to gear up! Payment-put your money in an envelope and put that in a wooden box with a slot! This place was unreal! But I got 2 jumps in, one a 2-way with the only fun jumper on site, he was PUMPED, never gets to really jump with people, hahaha. This place is great though, 2 guys even offered to put me up at their place for the night if I wanted, but I opted to crash on the couch in the hangar.
Otherwise, things are good, my car battery was dead when I woke up in Chicago, but I got a new one, screw you trip Gods trying to hose me before I make it out west!
Next stop: THE BADLANDS!!!!!!!
