Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing well and your Canada day long weekend was good! Definitely was a proud Canadian in Rome that day!

So I have been to Italy before and seeing certain places again was a strange experience. Coming back to the same place after so many years really puts into perspective how much has changed in that short amount of time! Rome was just busy!! Our flight was delayed and our baggage came two hours late so that was a rough start to Rome. I think deeps and I were overwhelmed with how big it was and all of the tourist attractions. I've come to the conclusion that being a tourist is exhausting and I would so rather just sit in a piazza and read a book or enjoy an authentic Italian restaurant than be touring around to all of these sites. It's so much nicer to appreciate where you are and really get a chance to soak it all in! So that is exactly what we did in Florence!

We went to Pisa on our way to Florence for the day and the leaning tower is so tiny! I thought if would've been grande and the main point of the city but that is not the case at all! We spent the day shopping eating and being tourists in Pisa. As you can see in my picture for this blog my attempt at taking a tourist photo was not very successful...

Florence was beautiful and relaxing! We stayed in a really cute bed and breakfast for Deepika's birthday! She also got her results from university and did really well so we had a lot to celebrate! We went to a wine tour in Tuscany on her birthday which was great but the roads were so windy that we all felt sick on the bus there and back but nonetheless it was worth it!

I am currently on the train to cinque terre. It is an area just outside of La Spezia which consists of 4 villages which are protected by UNESCO and are supposed to be absolutely beautiful! There are lots of beaches and you are able to hike between the villages as well so it should be the perfect relaxing few days!

So far everything's going well! Definitely been a little homesick this week but we are half way through the trip so there is still lots to look forward too!
