Bog from Croatia!
Yes, that is how you say hello and you all better learn now because you will all be coming here one day. All of you!
Deepika and I have absolutely fallen in love with Croatia. I am so jealous that she is only a few hours away from such a beautiful place but I've promised myself I am going to be back one day!
Croatia is the perfect Mediterranean European destination. The thing I like about it most is that it has everything, beautiful beaches, history, the Adriatic Sea, a fun party atmosphere, safety, good food, friendly Croatians and adventure as well so you can go hiking in the mountains etc. I feel like a holiday in Croatia would involve everything and it's super reasonable!
The first day we got here we took and overnight train from Budapest so we spent the first day just relaxing and seeing the basic of split! All of the main city centres in the different islands are very small and easy to see. The city centre in split is built inside of Diocletian's palace who was a famous emperor so everything is built within the palace walls while using some of the old architecture! It's beautiful and very cool to be having dinner for example in a palace!
The next day we took a ferry to the island of Hvar. It was stunning! That's where my picture on Facebook was from. Deepika and I got there and spent 9 hours straight on the beach...and we actually got a little burnt! We didn't even know that was possible for us haha Hvar is also known as a party island. There's this one place carpe diem where you pay around 150 kunas (around 30 dollars) and they have ferries going to a private carpe diem island where they have their main night club and that's included in cover! We unfortunately weren't staying in Hvar that night and had to get the ferry back to split but it sounded very cool!
The next day we went to this beautiful waterfall called Krka! It was about an hour away from split and was just stunning. You could also swim at the bottom of the waterfall (which would never be allowed in North America!). We went in for a bit and it was refreshing but very rocky so we had to be careful. All of the beaches in Croatia are mainly rock beaches. Deeps lost her flip flip and had to watch the current take it away! So sad! And then that evening we went to this really cool restaurant back in Diocletian's palace which was set up on the steps in an alley way! I posted some photos of it.
So overall, Croatia was amazing! It was beautiful and we were able to relax and get ready for chaotic Rome which we are heading off to now! We are getting more used to this backpacking thing and becoming travellers! It is so interesting to meet all of this people in hostels who are all coming from different destinations and off to different places. Everyone is so friendly and willing to give you all of the advice they have. It's like a little community of travellers. Every night we probably spend a good hour talking to people in the hostel and hearing about where they are from and where they are headed off too! It feels like camp every night haha but it's a great feeling.
Missing all of you! Please update me on fun things going on in your life and in Toronto, and Happy Canada Day in advance!

Ranjna Sharma Amazing pictures, definitely a place your dad and I should visit! Interesting about the island of "Carpe Diem" - this is a latin term and means " seize the day" or enjoy the moment - what a great term, if we could all just live in the moment! Growing up we used the term "per diem" - which means per day charge for something. Looking forward to hearing about your travels in Italy!
Rakesh Hi Eeesh and Deeps ....... Glad you are having fun and we, parents, will make it a point to visit some day. It is more tempting now and the possibilities of us visiting have increased ten folds.. Croatia, her we come.... Maybe Your tours have included a lot of sight seeing, hiking, socializing etc etc..... AND I assume Night clubs. Keep safe and enjoy... Love your blogs, make us feel we are part of the trip, we need more......
Arti Eeshinder!! So proud of you for living up the travelling life!! You have sold me on Croatia! Enjoy Rome and if you get a chance, try to book yourself into the Borghese Museum! By far the best museum we went to in all of Europe, but they only take a limited amount of tourists per day. Can't wait to hear more!
rakhee Eesh!! It looks absolutely beautiful! I definitely agree with us all taking a vacation there. Hope you girls are doing well! Buffalo is same old same old, gonna miss you at beach day this weekend!
