This was commissioned by the Turkish government to commemorate a true story from the Campaign. The Turkish soldier held up a pair of undies on his bayonet as a cease fire request and stepped out of his trench to rescue an Australian soldier who had been crying out for ages. He took him to the other trench in safety. The Australian went on to become one of our Governors General.
