Some places are reputed to have a bit of a problem with rats. We have some proper preventers but had seen on a blog to use a big water bottle. We also put a photo cell light in it to flash at night to warn that there is a line ashore.We decided this is a good idea after seeing the chandleries and hardware store displaying prominently rat poison, traps and preventers.
