Hello!

I had a bit of time so thought i'd write another entry. I'm now in Phuket. I'm just staying here one night as I am flying early from Phuket airport to Chiang Mai early tomorrow. I was planning on going to the National Park near Khao Lak but I changed my mind last minute and booked a flight. I guess it's one of the best things about being on my own. I had a bit of a nightmare getting here as the bus was over an hour late and once I was here my hostel that i had booked yesterday was closed so i had to trek around for a new one! But anyway it's not too bad here. I'm in Phuket town which is full of local people so i wandered about for about 2 hours earlier to get a feel for the place.

I've been thinking about the good and bad things about Thailand...

The positives are:

1. The food. Which is amazing wherever i have been. Normally i look for somewhere with locals in as you know it's going to be good. Tonight I had a massive noodle dish in a little cafe for 50 baht which is 1 pound so you can save loads of money if you find the right places. Plus I've definitely grown to love spicy food.

2. The shopping. Kelly wadhams if you are reading this you will love it here! The shopping is soo good and there are really nice dresses here for a fraction of the price you will get in england. I'm goimg to have a major shop in Chiang Mai before i leave!

3. The beaches.... they're all just really nice!

The negatives are:

1. The mosquitos

2. The stray dogs with rabies (actually kelly you may not love it so much...)

3. The annoying taxi men who ask where I'm going every 2 metres.

4. The occasional smell of wee.

I havent really made my mind up on Thai people yet. some are so friendly and helpful but some are so so rude. They're also quite protectionist and will charge different prices to tourists and local people which is a bit annoying but understandable i guess!

Anyway that's it really... I'm excited for chiang mai tomorrow! i've heard nothing but great things about it! xxxxx
