Hi everyone, Just to update...we're in Fiji! It is a really beautiful place altho slightly disappointed by the weather-overcast and rainy, and by the price of everything. We basically arrived late on Thursday night after a mammoth 48 hr trip from Bangkok and then spent the night on the mainland before booking a 4day, 5 night trip out to the islands-we had no real choice since the two main islands only have one resort so the fat cat Australian directors can charge what they like! we've just got back from 2 days on Robinson Crusoe Island-it is the typical idyllic paradise-or at least would be if the sun was out...! sadly, it also attracts many a gap year student so the whole atmosphere is one of a bad school trip with nowhere to escape to...cheesy organised activities, sleeping in 30-bed dorms...we felt like right grannies, refusing to join in and playing cards on our own! We've got a night here on the mainland and then tomorrow it's off to Beachcomber Island-apparently the party island, so we might have to buck up our spirits...! hopefully the weather will brighten and thus so will our moods! Looking forward to moving on to America next week altho I dont think my bank balance is...I guess its a good thing we'll be home in just over 2 weeks...! I hope everyone is well.
