hi emma, got your postcard today-wow, fabulous scenery, i'm not jealous at all! Not missing much here, easter is nearly upon us and with it the easter hols(for me anyway!)hurray!Went to Henley on Sunday and caught a glimpse of Oxford v Cambridge ladies boat race-Oxford won one race we saw + John said the main event, well done Oxford.I'm sure you would have been involved with them at some time?
I hope that Newzealand is as beautiful as it seems and that you continue to have a fantastic time & to look after yourself.By the way-mash potato is a bit over rated and you don't get views like your postcard shows in Binfield, that's for sure! well take care & I look forward to your next blog.
Love,Karenx

Ths trip seems mainly about eating, doing museums and touristy stuff and drinking significant quantities till late in the evening. Don't know who you take after...

Yet another great blog, ace. From a website about Peru if the trail is closed (coast looks good):
The Coast (Lima, Nasca, Arequipa).
December - April This is summertime on the coast where the weather is hot and dry and ideal for swimming and getting a tan. Temperatures on average range from 25 - 35°C. There is little or no rain during these months. The beaches around Lima and the North can packed during the months of January and February which coincide with school holidays.
The Jungle
November - March This is the wet season, hot and humid, when you can expect heavy rain at anytime. It only rains for a few hours at a time, so it's not enough to spoil your trip. Wellington boots are a must though, as some of the jungle trails can become small rivers.
