Sawatdii Kha from Bangkok!!!!!

Flight was great! Nice food and drink and comforable although we were delayed due to someone deciding they didnt want to fly, AFTER getting on the flight!!

We met Sarah Cass and Pete at the airport who were on their way home and gave us loads of tips etc which was nice. Then Mike came to the airport to meet us and we went back to Kahosan Rd. The guest house is minging like we expected - the room is TINY and Mike the jammy git has a BIGGER room than us and is on his own!!! But hey, we are nice and cosy and we have a warm shower and tv so we are ok!

Sar was SHOCKED at the heat when we walked out of the airport and her face was a picture when we arrived at Khaosan Rd last night! MASSIVE shock for her and was so funny!! We went out for our first thai chicken green curry which i told her was mild but was VERY spicy. We had 3 beers, 2 lemonades, a water, spring rolls and 3 thai chicken currys which came to under a tenner all together!! BARGAIN!!! Then we had a 'cocktail' in this tiny street bar sitting on little wet plastic stools and watching the wierdos go by!!! Mike was out galavanting till god knows what time this morning but me and sar left him in a very english looking bar/club and we went to a little bar for one more beer and watching this thai dude singing - just him and his guitar and he was brilliant!!! Got to bed about 2.30 and got up at 7 today!

Me and sar got a taxi to Hualamphong train station to book our tickets to Chiang Mai tomorrow (Mike is still in bed - probably with a banging head - will go bang on the door soon hahahah!!!) and then we went for a look around the shops but i got in a stress!!! Cant walk ANYWHERE without the little thai men running out of nowhere saying 'where you go? market? shopping? PING PONG SHOW?!!!!'

Right - we are off for a little lie down now then to wake Mike at about 12 to go to some temples and then to MBK to get my thai sim card and have a look at the shops!!! will NOT be drinking tonight! We have a 12 hour train journey tomorrow to look forward to !!! Will be nice to see some of the Northern thailand countryside though!

I must say - my lonely planet guide is a lifesaver!!!! finding it very useful!

Oh - the backpacks - I am really regretting putting so many clothes in now my shoulders are killing already! Think i will have to lose some things here! Sars little bag is so cute and i am impressed with her taking so little for our trip!!!! cant believe me and sarah have no straighteners or hair dryer (sitting here with AFRO hair right now!!!) but Mike the little tart has his beloved hair dryer with him so if we want to spruce up one night we know where to go!!!!

Sar is currently amazed at a thai lady praying to a little buddha statue in our hotel! So glad she is enjoying it and wants to see and do as much as possible!!
