Selamat Datang (welcome) to Malaysia!!!!

So I am back off on my travels as you all know and I thought I'd better start up my blog again (nothing to do with you nagging me Mum!!)!!!

So me and Zara flew to KL on Sunday 11th July and it was a very comfortable 13 hour flight actually! Air Asia are great, we had loads of leg room, the Malaysian food was lovely and we had comfort packs with blow up pillows, a blanket and eye masks which REALLY helped!! I would actually go as far as saying I was VERY comfortable on that flight!!

We landed little early and it took us a couple of hours to get to our guesthouse - the Reggae Guesthouse!!! Which was fine. Think i may have gone a bit overboard on the packing but hey ho... i can always offload some things to some of the poor begging Malaysian families on the side of the street.

So... the guesthouse is nice, me and Zara have our own room which is nice but shared bathroom. Free breakfast and tea/coffee all day and a little communal area with free internet.

We've been out and about exploring Chinatown/the KL Tower/Petronas Towers and other shopping areas. I've had a nightmare trying to unlock my phone but it's sorted now. Had a lovely dinner in a backroad plastic table and chair style affair which was great... and a couple of tiger beers!!! Also had a fish spa today where you dangle your feet in water and the fish all cover your feet and nip away the dead skin!! Disgusting little things feeding on gross stinking dead skin cells but they did the job thank you!!! hahah!!

Having an early night tonight and off to the Batu Caves tomorrow on the local bus (gotta keep it cheap - already worrying about money) but that should be lovely!! Then we're going to the Lake Gardens where the bird park is to chill for the afternoon until Sar and Ged arrive at about 5pm!!! We'll wait for them at the bar at the guesthouse and that will be a very exciting reunion!!! 7 months - longest time we haven't seen each other for!!! We'll have lots to catch up on and will prob not stop talking till the early hours. We're having a kind of birthday night out for me tomorrow night i think as on Thurs we'll be on the sleeper train over to Kuala Besut where we'll get a boat over to Perhentian Kecil for some beach time! Zara found these amazing chalets called the Bintang Chalets which are 60RM per chalet per night so we've reserved 2 of them!!!

Things are alot more expensive than last time i was here but that was kind of expected as the exchange rate is so bad right now.

Anyway - i'm off for an early night - think i'm still adjusting to the time difference - Zara had a very restless night last night on bottom bunk but i slept like a baby straight through!!! Must have been the Tiger beer!!! :)

Missing you all and i'll update more when i have more to say!!!!

p.s - been doing a bit of haggling in the market - zara got some sunglasses and a purse all for under a fiver!! Result!!! And do u know what the trick is..??? They say a ridiculously high price so you go ridiculously low... have a little laugh with them and ponder for a moment and then....WALK AWAY!! they'll come running begging you to buy it for cheap as chips!!! shame i have no money to spend :(
