I did eventually sleep last night and surprisingly, I escaped without having any nightmares about cockroaches! I wish we were staying somewhere nicer - this was an expensive trip after all! I had to change rooms this morning because they only have a double for tonight, so there'll be three of us in a bed. Good job we're all small! I also can't believe how many girls must be sharing 4 toilets and 4 showers... It's filthy!

We spent some time at the beach as a group this morning whilst the sun was out and I had a nose around the various quirky shops and cafes. The weather turned nasty when I went for a run though and I got absolutely drenched! The scenery was pretty cool nonetheless - I ran up to the lighthouse at Cape Byron, where waves were crashing dramatically onto the rocks down below. There's a good, hilly, circular route round there, of which the last part is in rainforest, so I went round that twice, once in each direction!

We've been out for a couple of drinks, although it's still raining heavily which is a shame. You can tell the locals from a mile off round here... Very strange indeed. No one in this place is sober that's for sure!
