This is officially the rainiest rainy / non rainy season ever!!! It will not stop raining!! On the brief occasions when we've begun work and it hasn't been raining, we've been drenched by the end of our work! On the plus side for the last few days we've been painting the 'hospital' and have managed to escape the rain!

Last night we camped up at the mirador (the view in the photo). We sat and watched as the mist came in which was a pretty amazing experience. I got up at 5am this morning to watch the sunrise and to see if I could spot any wildlife. I was really lucky as I managed to see quite a few bats, a hummingbird, a red squirrel (which was huge!) and I think I may have spotted a monkey high up in the trees! Very exciting!!!

I'm really excited about tomorrow as I've asked one of the Shaur men if he can take me into the jungle on a bird / animal spotting trip. We're going to camp overnight and he's taking a fishing rod as well so it looks like we might be catching dinner! I really hope we get a break from the rain!!!

I've also pretty much finalised my trip to the Galapagos islands (and apparently it's a really good deal) so I am incredibly happy!!!!!!!!!
