As sad as I was to be leaving Vietnam I was so unbelievably excited to be reunited with Emily and in Indonesia of all places; it's going to be so much fun. I literally fell asleep as soon as I got on my first flight before the plane even moved on the runway and woke up once it had already landed in Singapore - travelling and doing such amazing things is tiring! I finally landed in the good terminal at Singapore airport but my layover was too short to really explore. The terminal has a POOL, it's ridiculous.
I flew from Singapore to Jakarta and got the bus to my hostel as instructed. I was expecting an ordinary bus but it was a luxury coach and so I grabbed a pair of seats and sprawled out ready for a comfortable journey....but this didn't last long as an Indonesian man befriended me and basically sat on top of me for the entire ride. He was very friendly and just interested in speaking to me and speaking English, but I just wanted to relax! Indonesian people are super friendly; everybody says they are the nicest of the bunch in Asia.
I arrived at Six Degrees hostel, ate my first Nasi Goreng in Indonesia, and watched Catch Me If You Can in the cinema area (which I had all to myself) for a lovely homely afternoon and a well needed relaxing day. I then had a Bintang (so much better than Vietnamese beer) on the roof and chatted to some people; I was too excited for Emily to arrive to even consider going out and when I was awoken by her cute little face in the night it was a wonderful moment. We chatted for a couple of hours and realised we had both done so much incredible stuff in the past couple of months that we could talk forever about it all - yet India was still both of our favourites!
