Absolutely love reading about your new way of life. You seem to have settled in fantastically. Its great to hear that you are having so much fun. Photos are great, Harvey and Lily can't believe some of them. They didn't believe me when I showed them your grasshopper snack. Big Harvey was impressed with your building work, could be his new apprentice when you come home!! I've sent you some goodies just over a week ago now so hopefully you should get it shortly. Its amazing what you can get into a shoe box and still keep it under 2kg. Love you lots, take care and keep having fun.

Hi Em
William says to tell you that you have to look out for Chris Moyles as he is coming to Uganda. He did say that Uganda is a big place and you might not see him but I said it is still worth you keeping an eye out! We would hate you to miss the Saviour of Radio 1. Will is off school with flu-like symptoms, it is going round the school very quickly. Edie is rolling over now and getting very vocal. Owen was put to bed v early last night and he is still asleep now (7.30am) so maybe he is coming down with the same as Will. Hope not as it seems to drag on. Hope you are alright and we are looking forward to the next blog. Let us know if there is anything that you want we will post it out, no problem. xxxxxxx

Hello Emma,
Thank you for our fab letter. Very interesting. Wow, what does the grasshoppers taste like? !!!! The wasps look huge - run! and all those creepie crawlies! AND the spiders look massive - hope you can run, if they catch you they will tickle you!You are a very good teacher, we can see this from the smiles on the childrens faces, what a fab job you are doing. Well done!! The babies home looked a bit sad to me, I have not seen that before, Mummy has been to one in Tanzania.
Jude says ''I miss my Emma'' - love her.
I love looking at your photos. Mummy and Daddy send a big hug, no a hugh hug and a bigger kiss. Jude is asleep and sends a dreamy kiss.

Memorial fund donates £10,000 to QE Neuro Unit
Over the last 22 years, Sheila Leighton has been a very busy lady. With the help of her family and friends, she has been tirelessly fundraising for the 'Keith Leighton Neuro Fund', a fund she set up in memory of her husband Keith who passed away in 1987 from a brain tumour.
Sheila lives near Hay-on-Wye and the whole community has supported her in raising thousands of pounds for the fund which donates to neuro charities.
The most recent donation of £10,000 was made to UHB Charities for the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as Sheila explains:
"Over the last 22 years, we have raised over £46,000 for neurological charities - the money funds equipment and research. This latest donation to the QE will purchase two new beds for the NCCU, one in memory of my husband Keith and the second in memory of Chris Price, another local lad who passed away in September last year after fighting a brain tumour for over five years".
Chris' mum Sheila Price, who lives in Three c*** near Hay, has teamed up with Sheila and their combined fundraising in memory of their loved ones has resulted in the £10,000 donation to the NCCU through UHB Charities, the official charity of the Queen Elizabeth and Selly Oak Hospitals.
The people of the border town and surrounding villages have supported the fundraising in a number of different ways. Sheila Price, family and friends organised a memorial fun day which included a charity football match and a 'grand auction' which raised over £3,000 for the fund. Sheila Leighton held a community jumble sale which raised another £3,000 and for the last 15 years customers at J M Penning, the opticians where Sheila works, have been paying for small repairs by putting something in the donation box on the counter.
Dee Cope, NCCU - Clinical Nurse Manager, accepted the funds on behalf of the Neuro Unit: "Sheila has been fundraising for over 20 years, which is incredible and our thanks goes to all those who have supported Sheila and contributed to the fund. We are fortunate to be able to benefit from their hard work and hope to purchase two specialist beds for the unit which will benefit staff and patients, enabling us to ensure improved mobility and prevention of pressure ulcer development, which in turn improves the quality of care delivered to our patients".

Wow you are doing so much you are proper busy! Glad to hear that Joyce is OK, I have been thinking about her. Love the photos. Owen says "are you having a good holiday? I like everyone in your class, do you like Uganda? Miss you and love you" and "is that pasta horrible?" and "is the marmite nice?" That was word for word well an edited version of a rather long conversation about you. Lots of love. xxx
