Our journey to Ho Chi Minh took around 8 hours as we had to stop over at the border into Vietnam. We managed to find our hotel which was like luxury compared to Phnom Penh! (Only 7 euros a night with breakfast!)
We settled in then went for some dinner to a place called zoom cafe which had amazing burgers! Then an early night and we decided to do the waterpark the next day as we hadn't had enough sun yet!!
The waterpark was one of the strangest experiences for me and the girls... As the Vietnamese do not really like the sun, they wear shorts and t shirts to a waterpark, so 3 English girls in bikinis obviously looked a bit strange to them! We were basically being laughed at the whole time we walked around. There was even a separate place we had to sunbathe as foreigners! Early night that night as we decided to be proper tourists the next day.
The Thursday we went to the war remnants museum which was very interesting but horrible to see what the Americans done to the Vietnamese! They had all the old war planes and helicopters there on display too. Afterwards we wanted to go to the palace but that was closed for lunch so we went to the market and then the zoo and botanical gardens.
We saw a couple of distressing sights at the zoo- elephants rocking back and forth (they look like they'd been driven mental) and live bunny rabbits in a snakes cage! Which I found most distressing!!
Late night that night and a long long journey the next day!
