There were numerous problems overnight as things were misplaced. Our robust packing system of dumping stuff on the back seat let us down and we thought we left a couple of things behind in berkeley. We found most as the day went on though.
Most of the day was spent in Yosemite national park. This really is a fantastic place. A pleasant ramble up to see several waterfalls got us some great views. We overestimated the climb though and the way down was very hot and we ran out of water. On the way out of the park I also got to see a bear. One of the few animals I really wanted to see here (along with elk and whales) we has already seen elk and I had pretty much given up on bears. So I was happy and an enjoyable time was had by all.
