Quick update from Malaysia - came in from Singapore yesterday. Went by train and bus to Melaka, the old historical city and then onto Kuala Lumpur today! Going to hang out here for a day and then head over to the East Coast to the Perhentian Islands and hopefully see some sun and sea!

Had a great time in the cities - Singapore was great - a bit sterile but fun and friendly. Melaka was a weird mixture of historical and interesting, but also run-down and a bit sleepy - glad we have seen it. Met some great people along the way, and some invaluable tips from some scouce travellers - some little islands that we can go stay in tents at and explore, all uninhabited - sounds great! They also gave us some ideas about great conservation projects in Borneo.

Met some characters on the local buses traveling around (including 'backwards man' - who only walks backwards!) and some fabulous karaoke stars (hrm...) in China town! The locals all get on stage and sing to each other - its taken very seriously but we couldn't keep a straight face! Looking forward to meeting many more!
