well, it has been so long! we are having difficulty finding PCs quick enough for uploading pictures but dont worry, youll see them all in a few weeks! since we last updated asher and chris have left. apparently chris left his passport on the plane in Madrid....some would say we are a match made in heaven! We left them in San Pedro De Atacama in Chile and took a tour through to Bolivia via the Salt plains which were amazing, although it got very cold at night (-15 degrees) as we are at such a high altitude (about 4000 metres). We arrived in Uyuni in Bolivia in time for their annual festival and saw their president Eva Moralles who turned up 3 hours late. We travelled up to La Paz the capital and did lots of market shopping, avoiding the witch market that sold dried up llama foetuses. We have eaten a fair bit of llama though. It is rather tasty. We went to a warm town in the mountains called Coroico where they grow coffee and coco beans (mmmm) which was nice and relaxing although we ran out of money one night and had to eat crackers for tea.
We are now in Copacabana on Lake Titicaca which is really beautiful. We visited some inca ruins on the Isle del Sol yesterday. Today is Harriets birthday so we are going to go out for a nice meal and maybe a few drinks!
We are going to Peru tomorrow on route to Cuzco where we start the inca trail in a few days. we fear that we may die as just walking up a flight of stairs in this altitude leaves us breathless for 5 minutes. We cant wait to see you all soon. Thanks for the birthday greetings. Promise to behave ourselves!
