BRISBANE
We caught the same bus (6 hours now feels like nothing) to Brisbane from Rainbow Beach as two of our Israeli friends, Adam and Alex. We ended up in different hostels as they always book and we never quite get round to it so settle for the cheapest we can find on the day. Despite this we met up later and cokked dinner together - all the Australian hostels have kitchens - and it works out really cheaply if you're cooking and splitting the cost between 4. After tea we went for a walk to the riverside and ended up at a buddhist festival. Brisbane is one of Australia's bigger cities but is quite small. We (just the two of us) spent the next day at Mount Coottha, a really high hill that overlooks the city basically. We walked from there to the botanic gardens where we watched the world go by and wrote postcards. That night it rained a tiny bit so we used that as an excuse to go and see spiderman 3! The cinema is much cheaper in oz. We managed to fill the entire next morning making sandwiches for luch on our next bus. We have totally perfected the art of doing nothing!
