we[re now into our second day in rio having survived the first..1 down, 10 to go. we managed to stay awake for most of yesterday although the day was a bit of a blur. we[re staying in the district of botofogo yards from a beach (over a 8 lane highway) that has awesome views of sugar loaf mountain..we spent yesterday at cocapabana and then tiredness overcame us and we fell asleep at 5!!
today we are (slightly) more awake. it[s a little wet (pissing it down) so we]re heading to the local shops this morning and then don't know what this afternoon.....
speak soon (oh and the plane to madrid was a shocker..near death experience (and no i'm not a wimp)

hello Taxi, this website thing is quality. I will try and enjoy the flight..12 hours watching films can't be that bad...who am i kidding..it'll be more hell for emily than me..at least this time i have ear plugs.
i shall be sipping my first (of many) brazilian cocktails in...64 hours..(that's 8 am on monday in rio, flight lands at 7)...
