Namaste,
Just a quick update, as we've got to sort out what we're going to do once we get to Singapore in a day or so.
Its a bit sad that our time in India is almost over, and we've already said bon voyage to most of our group. Its a bit scary, as we're on our own now! Although we're also really excited!
We've already had invites to stay in Melbourne Oz, and British Columbia, Canada from people on our tour - so we know where to go for our next trip!! Hopefully gonna hook up with Nigel and Emma in Melbourne later to catch some Aussie Rules!
Yesterday we went to the Taj Mahal. It was incredible. THe size of it is just awe-inspiring - its a lot bigger up close than you imagine, and very beautiful. its a shame we didn't get to see it at sunrise but it was too cloudy. the night before we had the most terrific storm - thunder, lightning, and hailstones the size of ice-cubes!!
The weather here has become a lot more 'English' over the last few days, but no snow!! on the way to Agra we stopped at another palace and it was cold wet and windy. some indian guy was offering to jump into a filthy-looking bright green pond for 'just 100 rupees'!! You see it all here!
Now we're in Delhi. THe train ride from Agra was very slow. On the way to the station our bus broke down! the driver managed to get it going again, and in good old Indian style he got us to the train station with what seemed no clutch and only 1st gear!!
Finally we arrived at the hotel at midnight after over four hours on the sweaty train. and just wanted to sleep. But first we had to wait for them to finish making the bed! They'd only 12 hours to get our room ready!!
Next time we email we'll be in Singapore, so we'll speak to you then!
Hope everyone's well back at home.
Lots of Love
