Today we turned our noses up, away from the sea and towards the outback again. we decided the other day that we should change our itinerary. the plan was actually a trip to Stirling Ranges yesterday and stay there for two days, but we found out we did not want to stop there so long. the plan there was to go for a full day walk in the park, but my hip had been hurting so bad in the past few days so we just drove through the park instead and took some pictures along the way. We were lucky because we had to drive through there on the drive up to Wave Rock. There were also changes in the plans. Instead of going from Stirling Ranges to Esperance and then travel to Kalgoorlie and from there to Wave Rock, it is the other way instead. in a way.
the only exciting things we've seen today was all the salt lakes. the whole area we drove through today has once been under water. We drove for an average of 40 minutes without seeing a single car, so when we saw a car it was still 40 minutes until the next time we saw one. we have seen alot of cows and small dust storms on the road. we stopped and ate lunch at a gas station / road house in a place called Pingrup. It was not exactly good, but it was food. after about 2 hours in the car we finally arrived in Hyden. we filled the tank and went on to Wave Rock lying 5 minutes away. we booked ourselves in at a campsite and walked 100 meters to see a big rock shaped like a wave. pretty cool. we took some cool surfe pictures, before we went back and changed into swimwear. we soon found out that the pool was closed so there was no swimming for us. although they really surposed be open since 1 October, but at because health department or something had not been there yet, so they could not open. since the clock was just 3pm when we arrived here we felt a little riped off because we wanted to swim, but really had time to drive further towards Kalgoorlie without stopping. Now we have been stuck in the car a while since it has been blowing so much that we could not go out. it died down a bit a while ago so we used time to watch a little TV outside. it quickly became cold when the sun went down so now we have decided to take an early night. We are getting up at 7am tomorrow to get to Kalgoorlie early. good night.
