The day started off rainy and miserable. We checked out and made our way to the station. After a McD's breakfast, which wasn't especially tasty, we checked in and got on our bus to "The home of the crocodile hunter". On the bus they played a DVD with and episode about the animals in the zoo. It's too bad he's not around anymore, it's an entertaining show and he's a pretty funny guy. And so was our bus driver, he had all sorts of stuff to tell us on the way to the zoo.
A lady in a gift card store had told us to head straight for the kangaroos and feed them first cause they come right up to you in the morning while they're still hungry. So off we went to find the kangaroo enclosure, took a while but we finally found it. The kangaroos were so cute!! And so were most of the animals in the zoo. Tasmanian devils, dingoes, cassowaries, australian turtles, komodo dragons, lots of lizards We watched a croc show, saw some koalas, and even petted a few! We saw the elephants and awesome Bengal tigers too. One of the tigers came walking towards us, right up to the glass. We were like "cool!", then it went up on its hind legs and put its front paws against the glass. And we were like "wow!". And then he turned around and peed on the glass at us. And we were like "Ew!" haha!
Because Emelie is a cuddly person, she wanted to cuddle a koala, only way to do that was buy a pic with one, so that's what she did! We fed the kangaroos in the afternoon as well (Krista's pictures of Emelie from the morning were unacceptable so she had to retake them..). Krista thinks Emelie is very manic ;) It has rained all the time we've been here which was pretty unfortunate.
We waited for our bus that was supposed to go 4pm sharp. But did the bus come while we waited in the rain? Not until 45min later! Apparently there had been a traffic accident somewhere so the bus gad been delayed. Thank goodness we hadn't missed it! The bus trip was a short one, about an hour, and we had someone pick us up when we arrived. Nice!
We've just ordered some food (Krista ordered vegetarian to be on the safe side) then Emelie is gonna take a looong shower to warm up. Then we might have a cup of hot chocolate because, believe it or not, it's pretty cold here right now. Only 20 degrees, brr!!
