Well it's so long since I've written that I've forgotten what happened in the rest of New Zealand, except that it rained a lot and we were gutted we'd changed our minds about Fiji as some friends went and had a fantastic time, typical!
So since we arrived in Oz Novemeber 1st we've both got jobs, me with Getty Images and Christian is working as a subcontractor for the council building a sport field. We've fallen back into the working way of life easily because it means we can go out for dinner and drinks without stressing about money now that we're earning again. We've been living with our friends Chris and Lara in Paddington in their lovely old terraced house just off the main street through Paddington. The main street (Oxford Street) is lined with fabulous shops like Keihls, Diesel, Mac, Jigsaw and loads of little boutiques and coffee shops. Every saturday they have a market with great bags, jewels and artwork etc. It's been a night mare trying to save anything.
We visted the Wildlife World and Sydney Aquarium to see all the sharks and since then I've not been in the sea and have no intention of doing. Christian has been learning to surf and body board but I'm still working on turning white from blue by worshiping the sun.
We've been out of Sydney twice in 2 months, once to the Blue Monutains on the train for the day and once we borrowed the car and went to Summer Bay (Palm Beach as it's really known) which was very exciting! We dressed up as life guards and had our photos taken next to the Surf Club which has a big sign saying 'Management : Alf Stewart'. Check out our photos.
James and Jo (buddies from home) came out from the UK begining of Dec and we all climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge together which was fantastic. We climbed at night so the whole city was lit up and we could see all the christmas lights sparkling. We also went to the Opera House to watch a show that Christian chose but the less said about that the better and in Wildlife World we saw some real Koalas, very very exciting! There not quite as cute as you'd expect but still look quite cuddly.
There's a few things left to do in Sydney that we've not had chance to do yet like do the Opera House tour and walk through the Botanical Gardens but hopefully we should do those next week. So it's new years eve on Sunday and we've got tickets to Cafe Sydney which has the best view of the bridge and this year is the 75th anniversary of the bridge so the fireworks are expected to be the best ever and to top it off Paris Hilton flew into town yesterday to celebrate NYE here in Sydney too - what more could you ask for hey!?!
We set off on our travels around Oz Jan 8th and we fly to India 18th Feb so I'll try and keep you all up to date with what's going on as we travel,
Hope you all have a fantastic time on NYE and we wish you all the best for 2007!
Lot of love from us 2 little travellers xxx
PS We had a great christmas and hung out on Bronte Beach during the day then had a seafood B the B and the Q in the evening. Thanks for all our pressi's and all the chocolate was very well received!! xxx
