Em & Chris's round the world trip!
We arrived in Buenos Aires at 9am Saturday morning on the overnight (13hour) bus from Mendoza. Menzoda was a pretty cool place but we only had 24 hours there which was a shame. Mendoza is the main wine producing area in Argentina so needless to say we made a point of sampling the local delights! It was probably the nicest wine I've ever had, and I've tried a few.
On arriving in BA we had to find accommodation which proved to be a bit of a struggle as the Chillian's have a bank holiday and have all come to BA. After a battle between hostel or hotel Christian won and we ended up in a hostel. Much to my annoyance (and the constant gloating that ensued from him) the hostel turned out to be really nice. Not to shabby for me. It's a brand new hostel right in the centre of downtown BA, it's all very clean and it's in a beautiful old building with wooden and tiled floors, high ceilings and neutral decor - way nicer than most of the hotels we've stayed in.
Saturday night we decided we'd go clubbing and as a result we needed to do a spot of shopping so we didn't look to much like hippy travellers amongst the gorgeous BA crowd. I got a new silver shrug from Zara and C bought new levi twists, trainers and a top - clearly the budget has been blown somewhat! Sat night we met up with a girl we'd met back in Chile, and headed out for a few bevy's and then down to Pacha for about 2am. Had a top night, she partied out early (about 4) and of course we stayed til it shut about 8am. It's a massive venue right on the sea and wasn't too expensive. Saw quite a few messers!
Sunday after getting in at 9am slept til 1 then headed out to a Boca Juniors game at the Boca stadium. The played Godoy Cruz from Mendoza and it was nil nil. Wasn't actually a very good game but the crowd were really up for it as Boca had just won the South American cup for a record 16 times. We also got to see Maradonna from a distance which was pretty cool.
