On the way to Cambodia we took the bus/boat/mini bus option...it was advertised as boat trip but we spent about 2 hours on a boat and about 15 hours on a coach and mini bus, it was an ok journey though. We went to a fish farm on the way on a floating village which was pretty cool and unexpected.
When we got the Phnom penh we got a tuk tuk and told the driver to take us to a cheap hostel so we took us to a place called 19 happy house, which was very happy as everybody there workers and backpackers were all stoned constantly we even got a free joint off the owner of the place on the first night. On the first day we met a mad irish girl called amie who was really cool to hang out with so we spent the night at the hostel having some drinks and chilling out.
The next day we had our tuk tuk driver pick us up and take us on a tour, so first we went to the firing range where Luke shot and AK-47 and a Magnum and i shot an M-16 it was very cool to shoot guns we bought 2 coconuts to shoot i managed to shoot it, unfortunatly Luke didnt :-( but was fun anyway. After that we went to the killing fields which was a very sad affair, when you get there you get headphones and its a man that managed to escape speaking about each area of the killing fields, from the pictures we have put on facebook you can see the different area's where they found hundreds of bodies and there are sites that they havent dug up so there are so many bodies in that area its unreal, and because it had rained the day before there were bits of material on the floor from where the body was burried with clothes on and the material is starting to surface, there was also a section where there were bones on the floor too :( it was very sad but interesting and something you must do in Cambodia. After that we went to the S21 museum this was the place that the gorilla's (pol pot's men) hold people prisoner if they went to school, are professionals of any kind, if they wore glasses, if they had soft hands!!! basically he wanted to kill all of the clever people so he could completly control the country and noone outside of Cambodia new about it...Millions of people died, the S21 musuem used to be a school (they also closed down all schools) they held people here before they took them to the killing fields to be killed, it was pretty raw going into the rooms as there is still blood on the floors and walls and in each room there is a picture of how the found the room with the body in it on a metal bed and the litterally left it as it was. On the night we had lots to drink and went to a club called pontoon and it was hilerious!! it was a cattle market for men, take it this was if your a single guy and you dont pull n that pplace you have got some serious problems, even i pulled!!!
The next day we had got a ticket to go to siam reap.......
