Ellen's Mini Adventure!
Arrived in Sydney and was met by Sue and moody at the airport- BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!
Was like id never left the UK seeing them again after so long! And we met up with Stuart and lesley two other Winchester buddies for a few bevvies that evening- was great to have a catch up!
The next day we did a brief tour of Sydney City, saw the harbour Bridge (which i am DEFINITELY climbing, thinking im going to treat myself to the climb on my birthday!!!) and also the beautiful Opera House....wow, quite a sight and it was a beautiful sunny day! We went on a ferry trip to Darling harbour and had lunch in a nice water side cafe....all in all very sophisticated, and at 5pm we left on a coach to Orange........4 hours inland from Sydney where Moodys family live...................
It is the WINE region.............we have been in heaven for four days, wine tasting, unlimited supply, visited a gold mine, went sheep shearing (so much fun!!!!) and also was shown the highlights of Orange nightlife by Moodys cousin Rob.....and had a brilliant night out on Thursday! plus home cooked food--------- woooooo woooooooooo!!
Were throughly spoilt by the Moodys and left there yesterday heading North to Byron Bay on the ROAD TRIP!!! Tony lent us a 4x4 jeep......its 'authentic'.....and 'unique' and will probably only make it half way, ha ha, but we love it, and have named it Bruce, and he got us all 913kms to Byron with no problems, other than the mountains, and the kangaroo that i hit (whoops!)
Byron rocks, although its raining, but we're British and love the rain!!! Plenty of photos yet to load of Orange, but all the Alice pics and some Sydney ones are now on the website so check them out... www.ellenmoriarty.com ...theres some crackers!
Hope your all well, and look forward to hearing from you soon!
love me xxx
