This is glorious Melbourne and was our first real slice of Australia. We stayed in Base backpackers in a place called St Kilda and was right on the beach. I quickly made friend with other English, Irish and Australian girls and we went out most nights. Melbourne is very cosmopolitan with a good cafes scene and many chic little bars. More to come ...

We arrived in Melbourne early Wednesday morning from a 12 hour coach journey from Sydney. We booked into BASE backpackers and decided that we'd stay in the Sanctury- an all girls suite.
