Hi there, Ok so I never thought I'd actually be in such a cool place as L.A. Is it really possible to fall in love with a place, because I really think I have! We shortly figured after hopping off the greyhound that downtown L.A wasn't the best place to be at 11pm! We had no hostel booked for that night so we asked the guy at the station where we could stay! He recommended we get a taxi (an unlicensed one, that he knew and trusted!) to Hostel California as he knew it wasn't far and there, we would be out of the way of any danger. That hostel and the one after were prety awful, so we decided to move on to a more pleasant area which was Santa Monica. We booked a hostel right in the centre of SM and was one of the best places we have stayed in. We shared a dorm with 3 actresses and a girl from Venice, who were all very approachable. We discovered that people flock to this part of America just to be seen or to get their foot in the show biz door. There are people on the street giving out free passes to view films and after you have seen them you get to meet the people who made them and all who are involved in the making! It really is as simple as that! We took a city tour trip and this included a drive round Beverley Hills and Bel Air to see the houses of the stars. We saw the Osbournes house right on top of a hill over looking Hollywood and the houses that were lived in by Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Munroe and in Bel Air we saw the house where the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was filmed! After this we went to Rodeo Drive, the ONLY place to be seen to do your clothes shopping. From top to bottom it's lined with boutiques, and only the rich and famous shop here. Its an IT girls paradise! The beach is a hop skip and a jump away from us so its brill! I took a stroll down to the beach one afternoon to catch up with my journal and met a new friend from Australia who watched the sunset with me. The pics I took were amazing!
