After a fun day at sea cruising, we are excited to dock on the port of Cozumel.
Today, we are meeting my mums sister who is working on carnival dream that arrived at same time .
We were originally intending to cruise with her, but didnt get the booking availability on her ship.
The ship arrived around 7:00 am , my dad is getting ready for his dive excursion.
The safe in my parents suite were locked out and took awhile to get housekeeping to sort it and open the safe.
Diving licence and important stuff were in safe..
It was an urgent matter..can't let my Dad missed his diving trip..thank goodness..
It was sorted just in time:)
We opted for a buffet breakfast up on the Lido deck, where everyone seem to be doing the same thing.
As we had some time before meeting my Auntie Faika, we took our time to get off the ship.
Once we got out, no passport required, only our sail & sign card needed.
The port features a very long duty free entry hall, where all people from the cruise ship goes thru before getting out of the port .
Outside the port are arrays of shops , two main features were the Fat Tuesday Bar and Tres Amigos Bar.
A good spot where we waited and met my Aunt.
It was fairly hot day, after a few snapshots, had to buy a señorita fan to keep us cool.
As my Aunt is familiar with Cozumel , she took us downtown on taxi ride.
The pueblo were lined with tshirt shops and souvenir.
Funny how in the midst of this Mexican streets, theres a tiny Macdonalds .
Obviously it only sells ice cream and food to go. I didn't see anyone queuing ..
Perhaps everyone were out sipping margaritas and eating tacos..
We did our fair share at a local seafood restaurant .
My aunt picked a fresh fish which was cooked in the kitchen for our lunch.
Our time were short , since my aunt is working, we headed back to the port .
The drive along the waterfront is nice, there were another area where tourist shops.
I purchased some tshirt that changes color in the sun. My aunt wanted to buy a sombrero for me , which I had to say thanks but no for practical reasons .
Before we said our goodbyes, my dad finished his dive just in time to have a quick catch up with us at Fat Tuesday Bar.
It was a great 1st port stop, as we saw off my Auntie Faika sailed off before us.
