Today was a special day because it was Father's Day and we went to Rome. There were lots of REALLY old buildings in Rome built by the ancient Romans. There we statues everywhere. I was hot! We saw a wedding and some real Gladiator swords and some people dressed up as Gladiators. We went to the Colosseum which is where the Gladiators used to fight. I leaned that Gladiators used to have to fight lions and other Gladiators. There used to be lots of trap doors in the floor for the animals and fighters to come up through. The trap doors weren't there anymore because they were made of wood and has perished away. We then went to see the Pope 's house. We didn't see the Pope but we knew he was at home. I LOVE Rome lots!!! I bought a model of a Gladiator and so did Elizabeth.
